Daniel Gaposchkin, MD, PhD

Dr. Daniel Gaposchkin earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. He then completed both his Master of Arts in Medical Science and his MD/PhD at Boston University School of Medicine. He went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at Lahey Clinic Medical Center, where he later served as both a ward attending and a preceptor for resident physicians.

In 2006, Dr. Gaposchkin joined Massachusetts General Hospital as an Assistant in Medicine in the Department of General Internal Medicine, where he has practiced for nearly two decades. He also serves as a Clinical Associate of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and has been actively involved in teaching and mentoring resident physicians throughout his career. His clinical interests include chronic disease management, particularly conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, as well as building long-term relationships with his patients.

Dr. Gaposchkin believes in managing chronic disease through sustainable lifestyle changes and works to minimize medication use whenever appropriate by incorporating nutrition, exercise, and healthy sleep habits into daily routines. He also recognizes the importance of mind-body medicine and integrates those principles into treatment plans for both chronic disease management and prevention. At Exceptional Health, Dr. Gaposchkin looks forward to devoting the time and attention each patient deserves while working alongside an exceptional team of clinicians and staff. He values the opportunity to practice in a setting that supports thoughtful, personalized care and stronger patient relationships.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Gaposchkin enjoys running with his Alaskan Huskies and spending time outdoors skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, and fishing. He also enjoys time at the Cape and in Maine with his wife and their three adult children. In quieter moments, he enjoys reading and listening to books and lectures on subjects including medicine, physics, and biography.
